APPLE VALLEY-(VVNG.com): Sunday, May 24th is a day the Ceja family of Los Angeles will never forget. Giesy Ceja, decided to take her two youngest boys on a trip to enjoy the Memorial Day weekend, little did she know the safety issues that can arise in the Deep Creek area.
Angel Ceja was playing with his 11-year-old brother in an area that to them seemed safe, when at some point they noticed that 8-year-old Angel was missing.
“We were there. Very, very, very, sad. His mother was worried, looking for him and someone pulled him from the water. I called 911, people were performing CPR and praying, telling him wake up Angel. People tried so hard and relentlessly. So very sad.” described Sandra Safford-klodnicki.
The mother and 11-year-old brother cried out and searched for Angel, the youngest of three boys. At about 4:15 p.m. they called 911 to assist in the search of the large area. Rescue crews were delayed due to the reporting parties lack of knowledge of the area, limiting their ability to describe exactly where they were located.
At approximately 4:40 p.m. the lifeless body was pulled from the spillway and CPR was immediately administered by a bystander.
As the mother and brothers of the boy stood by hysterical, rescue crews arrived to resume the CPR for nearly a half hour before pronouncing Angel dead at the scene. This is the second loss of a child for this family, only a couple of years ago they lost a child that was 8 months old due to congenital health issues. “The loss of the first child was devastating, now, loosing little Angel is a nightmare. He was the youngest.” said Angel’s aunt, Pabla Ceja.
The family is now left with only memories of Angel’s smile, his laughter and his kind heart. “I am still in shock; his mom was always taking good care of them. I cannot imagine how this happen knowing how she was with her children.” added Ceja. Giesy Ceja is now at home with her 11-year-old and 18-year old sons, but to the family that already suffered the loss of a child, things will never be the same.
If you would like to help the family that just suffered the untimely death of their youngest child, a verified gofundme account has been set up to assist in Angel’s Memorial Service and burial.
