7 people arrested for string of armed robberies in the Victor Valley

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities arrested seven people wanted in a string of armed robberies in the Victor Valley.

On Friday, February 22, 2019, investigators from Victorville Police Department’s Gang Enforcement Team were actively investigating several armed robberies that had occurred in the City of Victorville since February 15, 2019, including one that occurred that morning at a local smoke shop, officials said.  

According to a sheriff’s news release, during the investigation, deputies from the Apple Valley Police Department located a vehicle on Bear Valley Road, believed to be involved in the smoke shop robbery, and initiated a felony traffic stop.

“During the traffic stop, one of suspects started the car and attempted to flee but was apprehended a short distance away after getting stuck in the mud. The firearm used in the smoke shop robbery was located in the car,” stated the release.  

Through the investigation, seven suspects were identified and located.

It was determined the suspects were responsible for the following armed robberies:

  • Mojave Gas located in the 15300 block of Village Dr.,
  • AM/PM located in the 16800 block of D St.,
  • Victor Valley Liquor located in the 15300 block of Tamarack Dr.,
  • Chevron located in the 15300 block of Bear Valley Rd.,
  • AM/PM located in the 16000 block of Bear Valley Rd.,
  • My Smoke Shop located in the 14400 block of 7th Street, all in the City of Victorville
  • AM/PM located in the 16000 block of Bear Valley Rd., in Hesperia

Travon Skinner, 18, a transient from Los Angeles, Elijah Martin, 19, resident of Victorville, Quantay Tinsley, 20, a resident of Adelanto, Aerin Shorty, 20, of Victorville, Delaneo Heckard, 25, a resident of Sacramento and Curtis Specks, 22, of Adelanto, were arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for armed robbery, assault, and receiving known stolen property.

The 17-year old male was arrested and booked at High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for robbery, assault, and receiving known stolen property.
