7 arrested for cultivation of marijuana and over 1.3 tons of contraband seized in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. — On February 27, 2020, deputies with the Victorville Police Department’s Gang Enforcement and Multiple Enforcement Teams conducted an operation to shut down illegal marijuana cultivations in residential neighborhoods in the city.

During the one-day operation, deputies served eight search warrants making seven arrests for the cultivation of marijuana and utility theft.

Between the eight locations, over 6,700 marijuana plants were located along with two pounds of processed marijuana. In total, over 1.3 tons of contraband were seized and destroyed.

Six of the eight residences had altered utility service, bypassing the standard electrical supply methods in the homes. These illegal electrical bypasses have a high potential for fire, explosions, and electrical shock, posing a serious safety risk to those inside the homes and in the surrounding areas.

Anyone with information about this investigation is asked to contact the Victorville Police Department at (760) 241-2911 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at (760) 956-5001.
