APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) Local residents flocked to Victor Valley Animal Protective League Saturday morning and cleared the shelter as part of a nationwide event.

Thanks to donations from SWG’s Fuel For Life and the Dorothy K. Thomas Trust, 51 pets were available for a FREE adoption during the “National Clear the Shelters” event on August 19th.

The adoptions included vaccines, spay/neuter, and a microchip for just $10.

Before the event started at 9:00 a.m., a line of very excited people waited eagerly to find their next fur-ever friend outside the VVAPL located at 21779 Zuni Road in Apple Valley.

According to a post on the VVAPL Facebook page,”today’s free pet adoptions was a tremendous success with 36 dogs, 12 cats, 2 rabbits and 1 guinea pig finding homes.”

“Thank you to all the families who opened their hearts and homes to our pets, and thank you to our volunteers, partners, and friends for helping us to CLEAR THE SHELTER,” stated the post.
