HESPERIA-(VVNG.com): Just after 7:45 p.m. on Saturday, November 21st deputies from the Hesperia Station as well as the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene of a vehicle versus pedestrian. Upon arrival at the location near the intersection of Maple Avenue and Juniper Street first responders arrived to witnesses performing CPR on the pedestrian, who was lying in the roadway.
Medical aid was rendered to the seriously injured male pedestrian, identified as 47-year-old Hesperia resident, Scott Sperry and he was subsequently transported to Desert Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead. There were no other injuries reported as a result of the collision.
The Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. There was a hard road closure between Live Oak and Juniper Streets, during the investigation, which was complete just before 2:22 a.m. Investigators determined that the Silver Toyota 4Runner was driving north on Maple Avenue, north of the intersection with Juniper Street, when the front of the vehicle struck the pedestrian in the #2 northbound lane.
