30 Dogs Taken From Phelan Home Operating Illegal Marijuana Grow

PHELAN, Calif. (PRESS RELEASE) – Deputies locate an illegal marijuana grow and 30 dogs living in inhumane conditions in Phelan.

On Thursday, May 18, 2017, deputies from the High Desert Regional Gang Enforcement Team and Specialized Enforcement Division served a search warrant at a residence in the 11300 block of Barbet Road in Phelan following an investigation that an illegal marijuana grow was possibly at the location.

During the service of the search warrant, 30 dogs were located living in inhumane conditions.

Members of the San Bernardino County Animal Control responded to the residence and took custody of the dogs.

Deputies located 185 marijuana plants, of various stages of growth, in the backyard of the residence.

Also, located on the property were two stolen vehicles. Members of SANCATT responded and recovered the vehicles.

An elderly male and female adult were found living in the home. However, no arrests were made. The investigation is ongoing; the report will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
