
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) Three men were arrested for the kidnapping and murder of Juan (Johnny) Ochoa, a 33-year-old resident of Hesperia who was found dead in a dirt lot several months ago.
Moises Morales, 36 of Hesperia, Kevin Tapia aka “Blanks,” 23 of Hawaiian Gardens, and Leonel Hernandez aka “Nino,” 29 of Cudahy were all booked for murder.
On Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at approximately 6:01 a.m., deputies from the Hesperia Police Department responded to a dirt lot in the area of 11th Avenue and Live Oak Street following the report of an unresponsive male, authorities said.
Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male later identified as Ochoa, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency fire personnel responded, and the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, officials said.
On March 9, 2017, Morales was arrested in Hesperia, on March 15, 2017, Tapia was arrested in Victorville, and on June 17, 2017, Hernandez was arrested in Bakersfield.
Bail for both Morales and Tapia was set at 1,500,000, while Hernandez was given a bail amount of 1,000,000.
Leonel Hernandez will be arraigned on June 22, 2017. Moses Morales’ and Kevin Tapia’s next court date is also scheduled for June 22, 2017.
