3 Airlifted Following Multi-Vehicle Crash on SB I-15

BARSTOW, Calif.(VVNG.com)- A child and two adults were airlifted to a trauma center following a multi-vehicle traffic collision on I-15 Tuesday evening.

At about 5:45 p.m. an adult female, driving a Dodge Durango, was traveling southbound on Interstate 15, north of Old SR-58 approaching stopped traffic ahead.

For unknown reasons, the driver of the Dodge failed to stop for the stopped traffic ahead.

The front of the Dodge collided into the rear of a Nissan Pathfinder, causing it to be pushed forward at which point it collided into the rear of a Honda Civic. This collision pushed the Honda forward causing it to collide into a Chevrolet Malibu that was also stopped, according to CHP Public Information Officer Adam Carmichall.

As a result of these collisions, three involved parties were transported by Mercy Air to Loma Linda University Hospital with unknown injuries. One additional involved party was transported by ambulance to Barstow Community Hospital for bruising and other unknown injuries.

Drugs and alcohol are not a factor in this collision. The collision is still under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Area.
