2nd Hit-and-Run in Less Than A Week

A second hit & run accident has been reported in the city of Hesperia within a week. According to a news release issued yesterday,
On Monday July 1, 2013 at 1:33 a.m., Hesperia Deputies were dispatched to a hit and run traffic collision on Main Street near Escondido Avenue. A 17 year old male, who was riding a bicycle westbound on Main Street, was struck by a vehicle, according to a news release.
The suspect vehicle, described as a white pickup truck, did not stop and fled from the location. The male victim sustained critical injuries and was airlifted from the scene. His current condition is not known. The victim’s 16 year old female companion, who was also riding a bicycle, was not injured.
The collision is under investigation by the Hesperia Station Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.).
