25-year-old arrested after Saturday night pursuit in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 25-year-old Hesperia man was arrested after leading deputies on a pursuit Saturday night.
It happened on March 7, 2020, at about 9:53 pm, when Deputy Daniel Vallejo attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle that failed to stop at a red light, officials said.
The deputy activated his lights and sirens, however, the driver, Emanuel Diaz Gomez, failed to pull over.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jackie Alban said the suspect led deputies on a short pursuit before stopping in a parking lot near Bear Valley Road and Apple Valley Road where he was taken into custody without further incident.
Diaz Gomez was transported to High Desert Detention Center for being in violation of PC 2800.1 Evading a Peace Officer.
According to public booking logs, he is also charged with VC20002(A) Hit and Run causing Property Damage and VC14601.1(A) Driving with a Suspended License. His combined bail is set at $143,000 and is scheduled for arraignment in a Victorville courtroom on March 9th.
