22-year-old Hesperia man arrested for residential burglary

APPLE VALLEY, Calif.(news release) – Dustin Ellis, 22, of Hesperia, was arrested for residential burglary, officials said.

On October 27, 2017, Apple Valley Station Deputies responded to a residential robbery in the 13000 block of Mohawk Road. The victim was at home when an unknown person knocked at his door claiming people were chasing him. The victim let the subject in his home and the subject fled out of the back of the victim’s residence.

The victim remained inside and a noticed unknown suspects parked in his driveway. The victim contacted the suspects, who claimed they were there to collect money from the person the victim let inside. The victim explained to the suspects the person fled out the back of his home. Once the victim informed the suspect, they attacked him with a flashlight and a bat. The suspects stole property from the victim and fled the location.

Deputies processed the scene and recovered evidence from the suspects. Investigators were able to process the evidence and through DNA analysis, identified Dustin Ellis as a suspect in the incident.

On November 3, 2017, Apple Valley Station Detectives located Ellis at his home in Hesperia and he was arrested for residential robbery. Ellis was booked at High Desert Detention Center and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
