22-year-old arrested after leading Victorville deputies on a pursuit Sunday night

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 22-year-old Victorville man was arrested after leading deputies on a high-speed pursuit Sunday night.

On August 11, 2019, at about 8:21 pm Deputy J. Mata attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a 1997 Acura, on Palmdale Road near El Evado.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said the driver of the car failed to yield to the deputy, who was in a marked patrol vehicle with emergency lights and siren activated.

“The driver led deputies on a vehicle pursuit lasting approximately seven minutes, during which time the driver drove at a high rate of speed and violated multiple vehicle codes,” stated Rodriguez.

Rodriguez said the driver stopped the vehicle on Estero Road and he and his male passenger fled on foot. “Both were apprehended a short time later in the area,” she stated.

The driver was identified as Christopher Elisha Kessee, 22 of Victorville. He was booked at High Desert Detention Center for evading a police officer with disregard for safety.

The passenger was identified as Solomon Kessee, 19-year old Victorville resident. Solomon was not arrested during the incident.

The case will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for review and consideration of additional charges for Christopher and charges on Solomon.
