Two suspects are arrested after robbing a man at gunpoint and firing several shots

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) A 21-year-old Victorville man is thankful to be alive after two robbery suspects shot a bullet towards his head.

At about 6:39 pm, on August 10th the victim was sitting in his vehicle at an apartment complex located in the 14900 block of Ritter Street in Victorville when he was approached by two males.

One of the suspects later identified as Diante Danon Gibson, 22, a resident of Victorville aimed a handgun at the victim and demanded he roll down the passenger window of his car, police said.

Out of fear for his life, the victim complied with the suspect’s demands.

The second suspect, Michael Latroy Jones, 21, from Victorville, took a duffel bag from the front seat and removed some of the victim’s property.

“The victim attempted to get his property back from the suspects, at which time Gibson demanded the victim to leave the complex and fired the gun into the air and once towards the victim’s head,” sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

The victim was not hit or injured and drove away from the location.

Deputy F. Demara responded to the scene and located both male suspects inside one of the apartments. Both men were detained and taken into custody without incident.

Gibson was booked at High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder, robbery, assault with a firearm, and shooting at an inhabited vehicle. Jones was booked at High Desert Detention Center for robbery.
