VICTORVILLE – (VVNG.com)- A 21-year-old Hesperia man identified as Pedro Cruz is behind bars for allegedly raping a teenage girl who he met through Facebook.
The two developed a friendship over Facebook and on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at approximately 9:30 p.m., the 16-year-old victim agreed to meet Cruz and go to a party in Victorville.
According to authorities, Cruz met the victim at her home and they drove to a liquor store in Victorville and purchased alcohol to take to the party. Cruz drove the victim to an undisclosed location and sexually assaulted her. Cruz then drove the victim home without further incident. The following day the victim disclosed the event to her Grandfather who called law enforcement authorities.
Through the investigation, information was collected which led to the arrest of Cruz. Cruz was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center. He is being held on $250,000 bail.
