GoFundMe Created After 2-Year-Old Girl Drowns In Swimming Pool At Hesperia Home
HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 2-year-old girl died Sunday evening after drowning in a swimming pool at a Hesperia home.
Deputies responded at about 6:00 p.m., on May 24, 2026, to a residence in the 10300 block of Choiceana Avenue.
Lauryn Horta, 2, of Apple Valley, was pulled from the pool by family members, unconscious,” said San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Gloria Orejel.
CPR was performed before the child was transported to the hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased, Orejel said.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office listed the manner of death as an accident.
Orejel said the investigation is ongoing.
GoFundMe Created For Lauryn Horta’s Family
A GoFundMe campaign titled “Lauryn Christy Horta” has been created by Alexis Redden to help the family with funeral and memorial expenses following the child’s death.
“We are absolutely heartbroken to share the loss of our sweet LC girl,” Redden wrote on the fundraiser page. “No parent should ever have to experience the pain of losing a child and our family is struggling to navigate the unimaginable.”
According to the fundraiser, donations will help cover funeral and memorial expenses, time away from work, and other unexpected costs while allowing the family “space to grieve and heal together.”
The fundraiser describes Lauryn as a little girl who “brought so much love, joy, and light into the lives of everyone she met” and said she loved spending time with her family and her big brother Noah.
