2 shot in Apple Valley, leaving 1 woman dead at Los Ranchos mobile home park

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. ( – A shooting in Apple Valley left one woman dead, and another person injured.

In the early hours of Tuesday, January 30, 2024, deputies were dispatched to the 20600 block of Waleew Road, inside the Los Ranchos Mobile Home Park, just east of Corwin Road, following the report of a shooting.

“At about 12:15 a.m., deputies responded to the location for the report of two females who had been shot,” stated Gloria Huerta, a spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

One person was pronounced deceased and the second was transported to a hospital, officials said.

Two “San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigations (CSI)” vans were parked out front early Tuesday, with investigators concentrating their efforts on the front window of the mobile home.

A silver Toyota registered with Oregon license plates was parked in front of the mobile home.

A resident reported overhearing a dispute coming from the house on the prior evening. They noted that the household consists of a woman, her daughter—who is thought to be around 17 or 18 years old—and the woman’s boyfriend.

The update on the second individual’s condition was not available at the time of publishing this article.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the ages of the victims, the identity of the deceased individual, or if any suspects have been arrested.

Homicide detectives are on scene and the investigation is ongoing. Further details will be released when they become available.
