UPDATE 9/25 – The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office identified the two men killed as 34-year-old Lancaster resident Lashan Dinkins and 26-year-old Palmdale resident KC Browner.
HINKLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Two men are dead after a car crash on State Route 58 early Sunday.
The California Highway Patrol received reports of a two-vehicle traffic collision at about 2:10 am, September 23, 2018.
According to a CHP Public Information Officer Jacob Wheeler, a 31-year-old male from Conroe, TX, was driving a 2006 Dodge 3500 pickup truck westbound on State Route 58, west of Harper Lake Road.
Ahead of his location, a 2001 Hyundai sedan, driven by a 34-year-old male from Lancaster, CA, was stopped on the right shoulder of westbound State Route 58.
For reasons still unknown, the Dodge started traveling on the right shoulder and collided into the rear of the Hyundai.
“As a result of the collision, the driver and the right front passenger of the Hyundai, a 26-year-old male from Van Nuys, CA, sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Dodge sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision and was transported by ground to Barstow Community Hospital,” stated Wheeler.
Officials said alcohol and/or drugs are not considered to be a factor in this collision.
This crash is currently under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Area. Anyone with information regarding this collision is asked to call 760-255-5900.
