APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — One rider was airlifted and another was transported to a hospital after crashing their motorcycles in Apple Valley Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol incident logs, the crash was reported at 1:04 p.m. on Central and Quarry Roads.
Officer Ray Close with the Victorville CHP station confirmed that both riders were traveling northbound on Central Road when for unknown reasons they lost control, sending one motorcycle crashing into a water tank and another motorcycle over the railroad tracks.
American Medical Response (AMR) transported one critical rider to Apple Valley Airport to be further airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center by a Mercy Air helicopter..
The second rider was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
It appears both riders are friends and were out for a ride Saturday when the crash occurred.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the CHP Victorville office.
