2 Barstow residents arrested for attempted burglary

BARSTOW, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Deputies with the Barstow Sheriff’s Station arrested two men for the attempted burglary of a residence in Barstow.

On August 10, 2018, at approximately 4:03 P.M., deputies responded to the location in the 33900 block of “I” Street in Barstow after the victim contacted 9-1-1 and advised that two unknown subjects were on their property acting suspiciously, officials said.

According to a news release, “the subjects had parked their vehicle on the driveway, walked around the outdoor garage area, and then attempted to enter the residence through the secured front door.”

Responding deputies contacted both suspects in the front yard identified as Brianna Branning, 20, and Oscar Lara, 28, both residents of Barstow.

“During a consensual search of their vehicle, deputies located various tools commonly used in the commission of burglaries. Branning and Lara were subsequently arrested for attempted burglary,” stated the release.
