2 airlifted, 1 ejected after rollover crash in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY, Calif. ( – Two people were airlifted to trauma centers and two others were rushed to local hospitals following a Monday night rollover crash.

It happened at about 6:00 pm, in the 16800 block of Dale Evans Parkway in Apple Valley. Deputies responded reference a single-vehicle rollover traffic collision with at least one person ejected from the vehicle, scanner traffic reported.

A sheriff’s aviation helicopter flew over the scene and located the mangled mini-van with several occupants surrounding the vehicle.

Firefighters with the Apple Valley Fire Protection District arrived and stablished a triage to treat the four-patients. The first two victims were taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center and transferred to Mercy Air ambulances and flown to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The other two patients were taken to local hospitals.

Dale Evans Parkway was closed for approximately an-hour while authorities investigated and tow-trucks helped clear the scene. Electricity service to nearby residents was briefly interrupted by the crash. Southern California Edison personal responded and were working in repairing the problem.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station.
