18-year-old Mojave River Academy student arrested for making criminal threats

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Joseph Narvaes, 18, a student at Mojave River Academy was arrested for making criminal threats, officials said.

On Thursday, November 21, 2019, at 11:22 am, deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station received a call regarding threats made by a student at the school located at 12384 Palmdale Road ste #201 in Victorville.

Mojave River Academy is a charter school operating under the direction of the Adelanto School District.

According to the school administration, Joseph Narvaes walked off the campus and made threatening statements.

Deputies immediately responded to the school and Narvaes’s residence in the 11900 block of White Ave., in Adelanto.

According to a sheriff’s news release, “he was located walking down the street to his residence and was taken into custody without incident within one hour of the initial threats.”

Detectives and deputies were given consent to search the residence, no weapons were located.

Narvaes was arrested for Criminal Threats and booked at High Desert Detention Center where he is being held in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.
