17-Year-Old On Probation Arrested After Deputies Recover Fully Automatic Glock In Adelanto

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Deputies with the Victorville Station’s Gang Impact Team recovered a fully automatic Glock handgun during the service of a search warrant at an Adelanto home, leading to the arrest of a 17-year-old juvenile on multiple felony weapons charges.
The investigation began Tuesday, July 28, 2026, after deputies assigned to the Victorville City Gang Impact Team (VCGIT) investigated the juvenile, who was on active probation and prohibited from possessing firearms.
At approximately 1:33 p.m., deputies, assisted by personnel from the Adelanto Station, served a search warrant at a residence in the 17000 block of Carson Circle.
During the search, deputies recovered a loaded 9mm Glock 17 handgun equipped with a large-capacity magazine. Investigators also discovered the firearm had been modified with a conversion device, commonly referred to as a “switch,” allowing the handgun to function as a fully automatic machine gun.
The juvenile was arrested on multiple felony weapons violations and booked into High Desert Juvenile Hall.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, a Glock equipped with a conversion device “can discharge an entire magazine in a matter of seconds, making it extremely difficult to control and dramatically increasing the likelihood of innocent bystanders being struck by gunfire.”
Deputies said the recovery highlights the dangers posed by illegally modified firearms, noting that conversion devices are prohibited under both California and federal law.
The Victorville City Gang Impact Team said it remains committed to identifying and removing illegal firearms through targeted investigations, probation compliance enforcement, and partnerships with surrounding stations in an effort to reduce gun violence throughout the High Desert, according to the written statement.
