16-Year-Old Seriously Injured After Being Hit By Vehicle In Victorville; Suspect Still At Large

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 16-year-old boy suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Victorville, and authorities are investigating the incident as an attempted murder.
The incident occurred on July 8, 2026, at about 2:26 p.m., on Foxfire Road and Amethyst Road.
San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Jenny Smith told VVNG deputies responded to the location after receiving a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
“Upon arrival they observed a 16-year-old, male juvenile who had been hit by a vehicle at the location,” Smith said. “The juvenile was taken to the hospital with major injuries. The suspect vehicle fled the location prior to deputy arrival.”
Deputies are actively following leads related to the investigation.
Smith also confirmed that the driver involved in the hit-and-run remains outstanding.
“A separate arrest was made; however we are not releasing information regarding that at this time. Thank you for understanding,” stated Smith.
No additional information about the victim’s condition or the circumstances leading up to the incident has been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
