16-Year-Old Dies After Jumping off Rocks into Deep Creek

DEEP CREEK-(VVNG.com)- The body of a 16-year-old boy was recovered by divers after he reportedly jumped from “the falls” located at the Deep Creek Hot Springs.

According to scanner traffic, the teenager jumped from the rocks, into the water and never surfaced. The teen was accompanied by four other friends. They reported seeing the young teens body sink.

Dispatch received the call at approximately 3:20 P.M., on Friday, April 24, 2015. Deep Creek Hot Springs, DCHS, are natural hot springs located in the northern Mojave Desert section of the San Bernardino National Forest, near Hesperia in San Bernardino County.

A member of the Sheriff’s Dive Team from the Victorville Police station was picked up by helicopter near the Law Library on Seneca Drive in Victorville.

The young victims body was recovered by divers just before 4:30 P.M., and hoisted out. His body was taken by Air Rescue 6 to Loma Linda Medical Center.

At this time the official cause of death of death is under investigation. The victims identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
