15-Year-Old Arrested After Attempted Robberies At Walgreens And CVS In Adelanto

ADELANTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly attempting back-to-back robberies at Walgreens and CVS stores in Adelanto, authorities said.
The incidents were reported on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at approximately 10:08 a.m. in the 12000 block of Palmdale Road.
According to information provided by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Gloria Orejel, deputies assigned to the Victorville Police Station responded to a Walgreens store for a robbery in progress.
Orejel said the male suspect entered the store, walked around, selected merchandise, and approached the cashier. As the cashier conducted the transaction and opened the cash register, the suspect lunged over the counter and knocked the register’s money tray to the ground.

The suspect then tussled with the cashier as she attempted to get away. During the struggle, the suspect fell to the floor before getting back up and fleeing the store without obtaining any money.
While deputies were responding to the Walgreens incident, another robbery call was reported at the CVS store located across U.S. Highway 395 in Adelanto.
According to Orejel, the same suspect entered the CVS, purchased a candy bar, and then attempted to grab money from the register when the cashier opened it.

As the suspect ran from the CVS, deputies responding to the initial Walgreens call located and apprehended him.
The suspect was identified as a 15-year-old juvenile and was taken into custody without further incident. He was subsequently booked at juvenile hall on robbery-related charges.
The investigation remains ongoing.
