15 Freeway Shut Down due to Blue Cut Fire

WRIGHTWOOD, Calif (VVNG.com)- The California Highway Patrol is shutting down the 15 freeway in both directions due to the Blue Cut Fire.

Per CHP incident logs, the 15 freeway southbound is shut down at Oak Hill Road and northbound  at Kenwood Avenue.

As of 12:30 pm, the Blue Cut Fire has to erupted to 1000 acres and continuing to spread at an alarming rate. The large plume of smoke is making it’s over the Victor Valley in a northeast direction.

The Town of Wrightwood is under mandatory evacuations due to a fire that started at about 1030 am, in the Cajon Pass.

Swarthout Canyon is currently being used as an immediate emergency evacuation location. An unknown amount of structures have been lost in Swarthout Canyon.

The community of Lyttle Creek is also under mandatory evacuations. Authorities are closely monitoring the Oak Hills community to determine if evacuations will be necessary.

CHP is expediting a road Closure on Lone Pine Canyon Road south to Highway 2.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
