15 Freeway Construction Zone Crash Injures One and Kills Another

HESPERIA – A woman died in a Tuesday morning traffic collision on the northbound !-15 just north of the Highway 395 at about 3:10 a.m. Chp officials say that a Sig Alert was issued just before 4:00 a.m. after the

collision that also injured a Caltrans worker occurred.

CHP officials said that a black Kia Rio hit a Caltrans construction truck when the driver drove into the road closure and hit the truck. Both the #1 and #2 lanes were closed through the night and into the morning as part of planned Caltrans repairs. The impact caused the Kia to then hit a Freightliner tractor-trailer.

The driver, an unidentified woman driving the Kia was extricated and pronounced dead at the scene. CHP officials said that the Caltrans worker was injured as a result of the collision and was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.
