APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The public’s help is needed in finding a 14-year-old girl’s breathing machine that was stolen during a residential burglary in Apple Valley.
The teen’s mom, Mary Gonsalves shared about the incident via a post on her Facebook wall on July 12, 2019. The post has been shared over 600 times.
Mary said the home of her children’s father had been burglarized and many items were taken including laptops, passports, and other valuables.
Mary said the burglar(s) took something very PRICELESS to her. “They stole our daughter’s Respritech InCourage Airway Clearance Vest machine!” stated Mary.
According to Mary her daughter Allissa has Cystic Fibrosis, a terminal, progressive, genetic disease; it causes thick mucus to build up in her lungs & makes it hard for her to breathe.
“Her vest shakes this mucus loose and helps her to take deep breaths. Without this machine, her life expectancy and quality of life are greatly diminished,” stated Mary.
Mary said the machine is unique and is stored in a black rolling case. “It’s heavy and a useless piece of equipment to anyone that doesn’t have Cystic Fibrosis, it will cost about $10,000 to replace this priceless medical equipment.”
Mary is asking everyone to share her story and to help her daughter get her machine back.
