13 arrested during sex offender compliance operation in Adelanto

VICTOR VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) A total of 13 people were arrested during operation ‘Desert Watch’ on Thursday, September 14th, officials said.

Between the hours of 12:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m., personnel from the Victor Valley Sheriff Station worked in conjunction with County Probation Officers and State Parole Agents on a sex offender compliance operation.

The focus of the operation was to ensure registered sex offenders in the City of Adelanto and the unincorporated communities of the Victor Valley, were in compliance with their State mandated registration requirements.

During the operation, roughly 320 contacts were made at various locations.

A very high percentage of the offenders were found to be in compliance with their registration requirements.

Although most offenders were in compliance, 13 people were arrested for outstanding warrants, probation violations, and parole violations.

This operation is an example of the ongoing effort by the Sheriff’s Department to protect the communities it serves.
