12-year-old girl dies after being shot multiple times in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) Detectives announced that Makiya Walls, 12, a resident of Victorville, has died as a result of being shot Wednesday night.

The deadly shooting occurred at approximately 8:23 pm, in the 17000 block of Monaco Drive.

“Witnesses in the area advised deputies they observed a black male adult walking up to the residence armed with a shotgun, firing several rounds into the residence,” officials said.

Walls was reportedly struck “several times” and was rushed to Desert Valley Hospital but despite life-saving measures, she was pronounced deceased at 9:57 pm.

Makiya was had just promoted from Green Tree East Leadership Academy and was preparing to start the 7th grade.

Witnesses described seeing a white, possible 4 door sedan unknown make or model, speeding from the area immediately after the shots were fired.
