10-year-old Victorville girl hit by gunfire while sleeping in bed

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Authorities said a 10-year-old girl sleeping in her bed was struck by gunfire.

On September 4, 2019, at approximately 1:50 am, an unidentified suspect fired a gun at a home in the 12500 block of Amethyst Road.

Sherif’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez told Victor Valley News Group, “a 10-year old female resident was shot in the foot as she slept in her bedroom.”

According to Rodriguez, the girl was treated at a local hospital for her wound and no other injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing and police are attempting to identify a suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Victorville Police Department at 760-241-2911.
