10-year-old boy unconcious after quad accident on El Mirage dry lake bed

EL MIRAGE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 10-year-old boy was critically injured following an off-road quad accident at the El Mirage dry lake bed Saturday night.
At about 9:36 pm, on September 1, 2018, firefighters with San Bernardino County Fire were dispatched to the dry lake bed reference a traffic collision.
Upon arrival, firefighters located the patient, a 10-year-old boy who was unconscious after he was involved in a quad accident. Scanner traffic indicated the child was bleeding from the nose and ears with head swelling.
“Due to the reported serious injuries, San Bernardino County Fire Helicopter 325 was auto-launched and arrived at the scene in 8 minutes,” stated San Bernardino County Fire Department Cpt. Jeff Allen.
The designated landing zone was established on the west side of the dry lake bed from the visitors center and subsequently airlifted the child to Loma Linda Medical Center for advanced treatment.
