HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — One person was flown to a trauma center after being partially ejected from a vehicle during a traffic collision Friday night.
It happened at about 9:30 pm, near the intersection of Sycamore Street And Balsam Avenue in Hesperia.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and located a white older model Chevy pickup truck with major front-end damage after crashing into a tractor-trailer. A person in the pick-up truck was partially ejected and hanging out the truck’s side window, witnesses reported.
Firefighters with San Bernardino County Fire responded and required the use of heavy equipment to extricate the person from the truck. Due to injuries sustained, an air ambulance was requested and the person was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.
According to a witness who did not want to be identified, the truck was traveling at a high-rate of speed when it collided into the driver side of a tractor-trailer that was backing into a residence in the 15100 block of Sycamore Street.
The official cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Hesperia Sheriff’s Station.
