Woman Assaulted and Carjacked in Victorville Thursday Morning

VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): A 27-year-old woman was assaulted and carjacked near Stoddard Wells Road and Highway 18 Thursday morning.

At around 11:00 a.m. the woman was driving her 1997 purple Dodge Caravan when a hubcap fell off. Authorities said that the woman stopped her vehicle to grab the hubcap when a man came out of nowhere punched her in the face and fled the scene in her van.

The suspect was described a light-skinned Hispanic man who was around 5’9, stocky build, with short black hair and a beard. Per scanner traffic, he was reported to be wearing a black hoodie and tan shorts.

Both Sheriff’s ground units and the CHP Helicopter searched for the stolen vehicle to no avail. The woman suffered only minor injuries as a result of the incident and was treated at a local hospital.
