Victorville Pursuit Ends in Apple Valley

APPLE VALLEY:( On Monday, January 5, 2015 at approximately 10:30 PM a Victorville police officer attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle on 7th Street in Victorville.

A female driver in a white Mercedes Benz for unknown reasons failed to yield and began speeding away, eventually crashing into a parked vehicle on Stoddard Wells Road. The vehicle continued to drive on Highway 18 into the town of Apple Valley averaging 70 miles per hour.

A spike strip was successfully deployed at Central Road and was effective in causing the driver to eventually yield on Highway 18 just east of Central Road. The female driver was taken into custody. Animal Control was requested for a German Shepard that was also inside of the vehicle.
