Victorville man shot after answering his door Monday night

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) — An adult man who opened the door after a knock was allegedly shot as he opened the front door of his Victorville home, officials said.

It happened Monday night at about 8:12 pm, when sheriff’s deputies responded to the 12800 block of Pacoima Road, where a man stated he had been shot in the leg.

“The victim told deputies he heard someone knock on his front door. He opened the door and did not see anyone through the closed security screen and before he could close the door, he heard a series of loud pops, similar to firecrackers,” stated a Tuesday morning sheriff’s news release.

The victim was hit by gunfire, one time in the lower leg and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
