VICTORVILLE: A correctional officer of 9-years with the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Victorville was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident at approximately 7:03 p.m., on Monday. The 34-Year-Old male rider sustained serious injuries as a result of the traffic collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to a press release, Victorville Deputies were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle unknown-injury traffic collision involving a motorcycle that had occurred in the area of Hesperia Road and Seneca Road in the City of Victorville.
Through investigation it was discovered the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Hesperia Road having passed the intersection with Seneca Road. As the roadway curved the rider lost control of his motorcycle and it fell to the ground. The motorcycle began to slide, impacting the curb and street light on the west side of Hesperia Road before coming to rest on the dirt shoulder of Hesperia Road.
Grieving family and friends have identified the deceased male as Phil Belanger, a loving dad, son, brother and uncle. Belanger leaves behind beautiful twin girls who are turning 7-years-old in October.
The mother of the twin girls Vanessa Ramirez, posted the following message in Victor Valley News Group, “My amazing little girls tragically lost their daddy last night due to a motorcycle accident, He was killed instantly. We loved him more than anything in the world. He was our protector & now I pray that he is at peace & can watch over us & I pray I can be as strong as possible to raise my daughters myself for my sake & for his! Thank you all for all your kind thoughts & prayers, it means so much to our family!”
The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team is still investigating whether speed played a factor in this collision. Hesperia Road was closed in both directions in the area of the traffic collision until approximately 2:30 a.m. This is an ongoing investigation by the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT).
