Vehicle Plows Into Electrical Box Knocking Out Power

APPLE VALLEY:( An electrical transformer box across the street from James Woody Park was damaged during a single-vehicle crash, knocking out power to over 1,000 residential and business customers.

For unknown reasons, a black sedan lost control and crashed into a large green electrical box before eventually crashing through a chain linked fence and coming to a stop after crashing into the Victory in Jesus church located at 13538 Powhatan Court in Apple Valley.

According to the Southern California Edison website, a total of 1,055 customers were impacted by the outage. Repair crews have been advised and all customers are expected to have power restored by 2:00 PM.

The incident was reported at about 12:30 PM., on Wednesday, February 24, 2016. At this time injuries are unknown. More information will be updated as it becomes available.
