UPDATE: Pilot Fire Grows to 350 Acres; Evacuations Ordered

SILVERWOOD LAKE, Calif : (VVNG.com)- The fast-moving Pilot fire has prompted evacuations and is now threatening structures.

According to the U.S. Forrest Service, residents along Highway 173 near the Cedar Damn Springs are being evacuated.

San Bernardino County Fire also reported areas around Highway 138 and Old Mill Road and 138/173 are also being evacuated. And structure protection is in place.

Firefighters are continuing an aggressive response by air and ground.

The Pilot Fire was first reported shortly after 12:00 p.m on Sunday in the area of Pilot Rock Ridge above Silverwood Lake.

At about 2:50 p.m. the US Forest Service reported the fire has grown to 350 acres with 0% containment.

The air quality in the Victor Valley is already being impacted by the smoke and is expected to get worse.

If you have respiratory issues you should refrain from performing any outdoor activities.
