Truck fire causes traffic delays on Main Street in Hesperia

HESPERIA, Calif. (VVNG.com) — Firefighters responded to a truck fire at a busy intersection in Hesperia Tuesday morning.

It happened at about 8:35 am, when the engine compartment of a flat-bed truck erupted into flames as the truck was at a stop at in the eastbound lanes of Main Street at Mariposa Road.

Firefighters with San Bernardino County Fire arrived on scene and knocked down the fire within several minutes.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the flat-bed cargo area, which was fully loaded with various sized boxes.

Traffic on Main Street is reportedly gridlocked in the area surrounding the fire. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
