(VVNG.com)- Red Robin Gourmet Burgers have joined forces with Law Enforcement Officers to raised funds benefiting the Special Olympics. The tip-a-cop event will get your local law officers to trade their handcuffs and badges for aprons at Red Robins. This fun-filled event will be benefiting the Special Olympics of Southern California. This is not only a local event, law enforcement agencies everywhere in the United States will serve guests and collect tips for the great cause.
On Thursday, October 16th 2014 from 5-9 p.m., at ALL 41 Southern California Red Robin restaurants. Come eat delicious burgers while being able to meet and greet your local law enforcement officers that protect and serve. You will also have the opportunity to meet Special Olympic athletes coming to join the fun.
Red Robin and Law Enforcement both support local and national causes. The Red Robin tip-a-cop campaign began in 2005 and has raised over $3.4 million for the Law Enforcement Torch Run in it’s support of the Special Olympics. LETR, which includes an international series of relay runs and special events like Tip-A-Cop®, is presented by more than 97,000 law enforcement officers worldwide to help raise money and public awareness for Special Olympics.
Special Olympics empowers intellectually differently abled individuals through a global movement that is inclusive to those who may not have otherwise been able to compete in such events. The training, support, competition, and team spirit gives these individuals a feeling of inclusivity and community that is so often desired. The special olympics is helping to fight the stigma of differently abled people and bringing change where there once was injustice and intolerance.
