[googlemap src=”” align=”alignright” ](VVNG.com)- Firefighters put out 7 small Wildland fires adjacent to Pacific Crest Trail near Mojave River Forks, Saturday night.
The fire was first reported at around 8:30 p.m., off of state route 173, close to Arrowhead Lake Road.
Per scanner traffic reports, the largest fire burned approximately 1/4 of an acre before the flames were contained.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department and CalFire assisted in the firefighting efforts. The fire spread was halted and firefighters cleared the scene just before 11pm.
An eyewitness reported seeing 4 juveniles described as three males and one female running from the area where the fires started. They were seen getting into an older model red Pontiac and speeding away from the scene.
Sheriff’s officers assisted in the search for the vehicle. At this time its unclear if the vehicle was located.
