Teen Brothers Arrested in Connection with Janitor Attack

VICTORVILLE-(VVNG.com): Three teens have been arrested after the brutal Monday, night attack of a 65-year-old Victor Valley High School janitor. Upon, viewing of school surveillance footage, the school officials were able to identify two of the suspects as former students at Victor Valley High School.

Prior to the assault, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials, two suspects were seen on campus earlier that day and were told to leave. Based on that information, detectives served search warrants at the 14000 block of Manning Street and the 16000 block of Forrest Avenue in Victorville.

Through additional investigation, all three suspects were located and arrested. Detectives also were able to locate the clothing, paintballs and one of the paintball guns used in the assault.

The three arrested have been identified as 19-year-old Victorville resident Tommy Heath, 19-year-old Victorville resident Thomas Heath and 18-year-old Victorville Dewan Marchand.

All three were booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. They are being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Tommy and Thomas Heath are due in court for an arraignment hearing on Thursday, November 18th. Dewan Marchand was released on bail on Wednesday November 18th just before 10:00 a.m. and has no appearances scheduled at this time.

Jose Benitez, who has worked as the janitor at Victor Valley High School for 10 years was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and is now recuperating at home.
