SUV Slams Into Sedan Causing Chain Reaction Crash

VICTORVILLE-( No major injuries were reported following a five vehicle traffic collision on Hesperia Road just north of Jasmine Street Friday evening. Two deputies and one AMR unit were dispatched to the traffic collision that was reported at around 5:15 p.m.

The collision involved a Chevy Tahoe, a Volkswagen Passat, a Honda Civic, a Kia Optima and Fiat 500.

According to witnesses on scene, Chevy Tahoe was driving southbound behind the Volkswagen Passat. The Tahoe slammed into the back of the Passat sending it into the parking lot causing it to hit the parked white Fiat and black Civic. The Civic was pushed into the Optima, which was also parked.

The driver of the Tahoe reported that a water bottle slipped under her brake pedal causing her to be unable to stop the vehicle, but deputies on scene said there was no water bottle located.

The driver of the Tahoe suffered minor facial injuries and the driver of the Passat hit the steering wheel with her chest but declined transport for medical aid. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision, the cause of the collision is still under investigation at this time.
