Suspicious person report leads deputies to stolen vehicle in Victorville

VICTORVILLE, Calif. — (VVNG.com) — A 25-year-old Victorville transient was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, officials said.

On May 6, 2018, at about 12:36 pm, a Sgt. with the Victorville Police Department was flagged down by a citizen, regarding a suspicious Hispanic male in a parking lot at the San Bernardino County Fairgrounds.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez told Victor Valley News the male had parked a 2013 Hyundai in an unusual position and ran.

“The male was located nearby, with a key to the Hyundai in his pants pocket. A records check showed it had been reported stolen out of Apple Valley on April 30, 2018,” stated Rodriguez.

Juan Castillo Garcia was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for possession of a stolen vehicle.
