VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com)- San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies were involved in a high-speed pursuit with a stolen pickup truck early Saturday morning.
At about 2:40 a.m., on December 31, 2016, a deputy observed a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado swerving on the southbound I-15 freeway near Bear Valley Road.
Per scanner reports, the truck was stolen out of the City of Hesperia 15 minutes prior to the pursuit.
The driver continued to drive recklessly at speeds of 80-90 mph as it made its way down the Cajon Pass. During the pursuit, the truck blew two tires and was driving on two rims from Oak Hills.
According to CHP incident logs, a gray Toyota Camry was sideswiped by the suspect vehicle on the SB 15 near the 215.
At about 3:12 a.m. the truck spun out on the NB I-15 south of the I-10 freeway and damaged approximately 30 feet of guardrail. The driver foot bailed from the vehicle and was apprehended by deputies. After being handcuffed, the driver attempted to run again but was detained a second time.
Two other occupants inside the truck were checked out by AMR and later booked into West Valley Detention Center.
The story is developing and information will be updated as it becomes available.
