Snow Falling in Cajon Pass & Mountain Communities

VICTOR VALLEY:(VVNG.com)- Winter officially ended when spring started on March 20th. However, mother nature missed that memo. The sudden drop in cold temperatures to our region has also brought along some unexpected snow in our mountain communities. Just before 5:00 PM, on Tuesday, March 29th many Victor Valley News members started sharing photos of snow falling where they live. Temperatures in Wrightwood are currently 30 degrees and are expected to drop to 24 degrees.

Several commuters making their way through the Cajon Pass are reporting moderate rain mixed with snow coming down through the pass. Joe Rovira shared a photo taken from the parking lot of the Summit Inn Cafe showing icy slush on his windshield and snow starting to build up along the hillside.

CHP incident logs, show moderate snow falling at Oak Hill Road with traffic starting to back up. As of 5:15 PM., there are no restrictions or accidents impacting the Cajon Pass.

This winter like weather won’t last for long. According to National Weather Service, local temperatures are expected to be in the mid 70’s by Friday.

If you have any weather-related photos you’d like to share. Please email them to news@vvng.com
