Shakey’s Pizza Returns to the Victor Valley

Victorville, CA (October 10, 2016) – Like a mirage in the high desert, the return of Shakey’s Pizza to Victorville has been teasing residents and travelers alike for more than five years. The wait is over. Customers hungry for great food, great fun and a generous helping of nostalgia can find it as the iconic brand opens its doors this week in Victorville. Beloved by generations of families for more than 60 years, the great American “gathering place” returns serving up house made pizza, crispy fried chicken and its famous Mojo® Potatoes.

Victorville has been “teased” with the promise of a Shakey’s Pizza for nearly five years. The restaurant, located at 14120 Bear Valley Road, was near completion in 2011, however, the franchise operator had to bow out at the last minute.Fast forward to 2016 – new franchise owner Mina Matta is excited to finally get this Shakey’s up and running, satisfying the region’s craving for the brand’s return.

“It’s meant to be!” says Mr. Matta, “Even though it’s been nearly 17 years since Shakey’s operated in Victorville, people still have incredibly fond memories of the brand. Even prior to the opening, customers, along with the local media, have been eagerly anticipating our grand opening.”

“We have had a great deal of demand on social media to come back to this area, and we are thrilled to be able to do so.” says Nick Mayer, Shakey’s Pizza CEO. “Everybody has a Shakey’s story. As the brand continues to prosper and evolve, we have a whole new generation visiting Shakey’s and creating their own great memories in a very special restaurant” Mayer adds.

Boasting modern amenities including an interiordesign to accommodate larger groups, guests can enjoy a wide assortment of craft beers on tap, expanded salad bar, plenty of large screen TVs for sports watching, and a fun-filled game room for kids. Shakey’s has stayed true to its roots. Committed to quality ingredients and an exceptional value and guest experience, Shakey’s pizza offers dough made fresh daily, signature sauce from California vine ripened tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil, and Non-GMO California Basil.

With a legacy of more than six decades and a multi-generational fan base that includes everyone from comedian and banjo enthusiast Steve Martin to pop sensation Katie Perry, Shakey’s continues to serve the tastes of its ever-growing, cross-cultural customers.
