APPLE VALLEY-(VVNG.com): An Apple Valley woman is reaching out to area horseback riders, in hopes that those that are able to ride in any terrain can assist in an area search for missing Silverado High School teacher, Christina Bastian. “I’ve been an avid trail rider for 20+ years and have seen, witnessed many things in those years. It is my first attempt at locating a missing person,” said Valeree Flavin.
Bastian was last seen at about 1:45 a.m. on November 1st when she left the home of her friend.
Few clues have surfaced since later that day when the vehicle she just purchase the week before was located scratched on both sides and empty of her belongings in on Highway 62 in Morongo Valley. Many of her possessions were located later that day on Highway 247 near Lucerne Valley.
No new information came in, leaving Bastian’s family to wonder where their loved one could be without any of her belongings. On the morning of November 11th, an Apple Valley man located a backpack with items, including mail and photos of Bastain near Chipmunk Road.
Those able to go on this horseback or on foot search are asked to meet at the Digiplex Theater parking lot located on the corner of Bear Valley Road and Central Avenue in Apple Valley on Saturday, November 14th at 10:00 a.m. The weather is expected to be a pleasant 72 degrees and sunny according to Flavin. Flavin also said that the search will begin in the area where her belongings were located.
“We ask no dirt bikes, quads etc mainly due to the noise and tire tracks can disrupt any evidence of Christina’s whereabouts,” said Flavin. “We are hopeful in finding any clues. We will stage another search in other areas once we rule out any possibilities of information.”
