Sean Beard of Hesperia arrested for Willful Cruelty to a Child

Beard remains in custody with bail set at 100,000.


According to a news release, on Monday, April 15, 2013 deputies from the Hesperia Police station responded to the St. Mary hospital on a report of a 25 day old female with suspicious injuries. Earlier in the day, the victim’s parents, who are 18 and 16 years old, took the baby to her pediatrician in the high desert area because the baby had bruising on its face. The pediatrician advised the parents to take the baby to the St. Mary hospital. Medical examinations revealed traumatic injuries and the baby was transferred to the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital for treatment.

Medical examinations performed by Forensic Pediatricians at LLUCH revealed additional trauma suspected of being caused by abuse, According to release.

The Crimes Against Children Detail assumed the investigation. On Wednesday, May 8, 2013 the victim’s father was arrested for PC 273a (a) – Willful Cruelty to a Child. He was booked at the Central Detention Center with his bail set at $100,000.
